Player's Choice Titles
Re: Player's Choice Titles
^ holy shit! that is pretty bad. And i thought the the US variants of Wii PC were bad
Re: Player's Choice Titles
^ I really like the art on the Frontier box. I tried to love the game, though, but it was just a little off-feeling. I like the SNES original and the GC installments of Harvest Moon so maybe I should have given Frontier a longer shake. Reviews I've read said that later Rune Factories (like RF 3 on DS) were stronger anyway, so maybe I won't stress over it.
ON TOPIC,
I've now bought Punchout, SMG1, Super Paper Mario, and Twilight Princess as Selects reissues. I notice that the "disc art" is using either just one or maybe two (I think the SMG1 disc might be blue and red?, should have double checked before writing) colors. Contrast that with the glory that is the Skyward Sword disc or the SMG2 disc, which pop with color.
Just thought that was worth mentioning.
Though I have some first party, non-Selects games that don't have much pizazz on the disc art. Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn is quite a boring disc.

I prefer the original versions of games, and will pay slightly extra for them, but not much. The only system I absolutely refuse to buy the re-release versions for is the Xbox 360. Ugliest platinum hits boxes ever.

Those games you mentioned had mono-color discs at release. The original Galaxy was red and blue. The first full color Wii game disc I remember was NSMBW, though something could have come before it.k.vlaros wrote: I've now bought Punchout, SMG1, Super Paper Mario, and Twilight Princess as Selects reissues. Also, I think the Nintendo Selects box art looks pretty slick. I actually prefer the Selects art for Punch Out. That shiny gold tag is a nice touch. It just looks more championshipy.

Re: Player's Choice Titles
Thank you equal sign. I didn't own those titles during their first print so I wasn't aware of that. Looking at my 'spreadsheet', most of the Wii games I've bought have been later titles, so I was used to colorful discs.
