We should do Lunar 2 at some point...
agreed. Where were yr JRPG suggestions back when we were nominating 2012 games, Mr. Baldur's Gate?
"at some point" meaning after a WRPG, obviously.

If I get a chance to try games in a series in linear fashion I try to do so, more for seeing how the games progressed (graphically, intereface-wise, etc) than for story.

Besides, I've always heard Xenogears is great. I think it was an early TR game, from before I joined the site.
Xenogears is definitely a solid game that no JRPG fan should miss, but yeah, if I'm not mistaken Xenoblade has absolutely nothing to do with Xenogears/Xenosaga. They just put the "Xeno" title in as a sign of respect for the director's work.
Well they said the same about Saga, but the allusions were still there. I'm sure Xenoblade is the same case to some extent, but that said you don't need to play Xenogears before Xenosaga and it's probably the same case with Xenoblade. They've got parallels but aren't directly connected, so it's nothing to take too seriously and you can probably jump around with the games.

But yeah don't skip Xenogears anyways.

Pricecharting.com made a blog post about its potential rarity today. Can't say I disagree on any particular point. Best preorder if you hope to find a copy!

I'm going to have to try one more time to get into Xenosaga. I've tried twice and fizzled out both times. Third time's the charm right?

If anything, try to get to Episode III.
