Any US dealers for Candy Cabs?

Post by chupon »

What's the best place in the US to order Candy Cabinets?

I don't know all the nuances between the Astro City cabs, Blast City Cabs, etc. but want to pick up at least two and don't want to pay shipping from AUS or Hong Kong.

* Found this and thought it useful:

It will be a little bit till I have more space but would love to have a source also. I have my mind set on a New Astro City and a Capcom Mini Cute.

Sellers are sparse but avoid Kingsley in San Jose ca at all costs or coin op store

Also mini cutes are nearly impossible to find in the states and I will offer more money than you if one pops up for sale BELIEVE THAT

When the time comes I may have to import from Japan. Has anyone had experience with that? Really I have seen a few for sale in the $750 to $900 range so why don't you already have one? I was thinking $1000 for a really nice one plus shipping, which should be enough. I plan on getting a six button American cab first though.

Completely serious here:

How many would we have to buy to fill a "container" to reduce shipping? 20... 30? Paying about $600 USD per Candy isn't so bad. I'd be in for at least three or four myself.

Maybe I'll look into this. If we had to get
20 or so would anyone be in?

So buying a 50' full container would be cheaper shipping? What would it come too per unit?

I dont know of any dealers for Candy's in the US. But I know that the guys on Neo-Geo.com worked out a Candy order a couple years ago. They came out at $500 or $700 - depending on what they were to start with ($500 = fighters, $700 = Mahjong converted to fighters, both sets with powersupply conversions). Their order was for 21 cabs.

If you want to know everything about the cabs, ask Majors. The Wedoca crew has like 14 between them. He owns four I think - 2 verses I know for sure. I have always wanted a one, but at $700 I could make one out of wood. I want to get a busted one and work with some of my friends who do vacuum forming to see if we can start making our own for tvs we can find in the US cheaply.

I don't know if I'd be able to participate (maybe) but regardless: I am proud to be part of a community where this conversation is a thing. Damn but this is an awesome idea!
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I'd be in, i've floated this to a few people privately in the past.

Candies are dirt cheap in JP - i've seen twice now where they were posted on shmups working / good shape FREE for the haul.

If you want a contact in the states, pm me.
