The System Has Failed is solid, really, but geez it doesn't even TOUCH Rust in Peace or Peace Sells.

Then again you think Countdown to Extinction (also a solid album) is on the same level as Rust in Peace so I guess I understand where you come from. To say the very least... I don't agree. At all.

I think Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction, Cryptic Writings, and The System Has Failed are Megadeth's greatest albums. And I hold Megadeth very highly as a metal band.

Cryptic Wrtings? Really?

I could understand maybe Youthanasia if you're into their 90s sound...

Definetly. Songs like Almost Honest, Trust, She-Wolf, Use The Man, Vortex, and A Secret Place are awesome. Guitar-driven metal at it's best.

You didn't like She-wolf? That song is even better live they always extend it with extra solos from everybody, including the bassist and drummer.

I'm fine with it, it's just not an album I'd consider among their best.

Aha! My band has gained a vocalist since my original (top) post and for Christmas this year he got one of those fancy pocket recording devices. We recorded our practice and got a couple cuts on the interweb now. We've had better nights (I goofed up a lot of parts) but all in all the recordings are good enough to share. We still don't have a bass player. I guess our genre(s) is/are Metal/Horror/Alternative ... i guess. Check us out http://www.reverbnation.com/beatthedoll

I enjoy metal every so often, but holy mother of god that DVD setlist is incredible. Arch Enemy, Behemoth, JFAC, Dimmu Borgir, Heaven Shall Burn plus like a gazillion others?!....amazing. What are the videos? Just like music videos? or live sets? Also that cover is beast. Pumpkin pirate!
