Wait a minute, you have Famicom game carts and you have not play tested them yet? No mod needed, you can swap the Gyromyte PCB with a Famicom PCB and use the NES shell. Not hard to swap PCBs if you only use a couple of the screws and leave on just snug.

Be careful the center peg clears the Famicom PCBs.

I actually don't own any Famicom games yet, just Super Famicom.

For what it's worth, Classic Game Room has a review of the Mega Drive version of Twin Hawk where Mark uses a Retron 3. It looks and sounds okay to me.
