Whats the earliest system and game you played at the stores?
Re: Whats the earliest system and game you played at the stores?
Even though I grew up during the early 90s console wars, I don't ever remember playing anything in stores... I'm sure I must have, but I just don't remember.

I remember ALWAYS trying out used NES games before I bought them at FuncoLand. It was this nice opportunity that allowed me to spare my cash from duds like Back to the Future and Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
I can't recall my first dedicated kiosk, however.

Our Walmart had Super Mario World hooked up for what seemed like forever. Whenever we'd go to Walmart my brother and I would go straight to it and our mom always knew where to find us.

I am 29 years old but I can't remember playing anything in stores until Mario 64 on the N64.

As a neighborhood kid, my neighbor showed us her "ticket to the moon" -- yeah, those were great days. Unfortunately my local Woolsworth was a bit of a hike away (in fact, most things were a bit of a walk... those war stories about going uphill both ways to get to school were based on facts dammit!) and I didn't see any playable demos until a Toys R Us set up shop with their SNES units and Super Mario World, Actraiser, and Mortal Kombat. (What a combo.)flojocabron wrote:My earliest memory is On the NES. Didnt get to play it at the store, but I remember seeing all the colorful and varied boxes (Behind the glass shelves) at my local Woolworth way back in the day.
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
