The VIRTUAL BOY

Post by ahammond12 »

Hey, I have a virtual boy, but unfortunately do not have the box, the adaptor or a controller.

I managed to find a controller here:

anyone know where i can find an adaptor?

hiya!

you better hope that controller is complete!

The batteries and or AC adapter go into the controller. Thats how the VB turns on.

The part just slides in and out.

Most VB use four AA batteries. But if your lucky and you find the AC adapter plug slide in, you can use any SNES AC plug.

good luck!

Sadly those are long gone. It's extremely hard to find one! Many of us here, including me want one too.

My virtual boy doesnt have one and I'm hoping that one day I find a new VB with the rubber cover on it.

I have two Virtual Boys. Had to open one of 'em up and bake the video "monitors" in a toaster oven so that they would flatten out and work again without the lines in the image. The other Virtual Boy has no video at all any more and doesn't seem to want to be fixed. Maybe I will duct tape it to my head and wear it out in public. ;)

Sweet I didn't know that is missing on a lot of them. The one I just got for free has it. Of course I didn't get a controller for it so I don't know if works.

I'm guessing the foam thing you're talking about is the visor? Search "virtual boy visor" and there are like 5 on eBay. I've checked pretty regularly over the past year (for no reason whatsoever) and that number is fairly consistent. Honestly, the thing takes a ton of batteries, but it's fine because there really isn't much to play for it. That and the 3DO are the only systems I have ever sold.

it doesnt have to take a "ton" of batteries.

If you buy the A/C adpater unit like I posted before. It can run off an SNES plug.

Never had to use mine with batteries! 8)
