Are there any harder Kirby games? Something on the level of New Super Mario Bros Wii?
I purchased Kirby 64 - Crystal Shards (whatever the name is) off the VC as we waited for this new game to come out and man, that is the easiest game I've ever played. It was ridiculous - my wife and I stopped playing out of boredom. Waste of money.

I do think with Return to Dreamland - yes, if you're just trying to complete a level, its pretty easy - but if you're going to get all the gears there are challenging sequences you need to get past to finish the deal. So the degree of difficulty is what you want to make of it.

Hadn't even heard of this. I'll probably DL it to see if I like it and then switch to buy mode if I do like. :D

Apparently this game was in development for 11 years. According to [ur=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirby%27s_ ... velopmentl]the Wikipedia page[/url], they started working on this game right after the N64 Kirby came out, but they ended up scrapping what they had 3 times before they ended up with Return to Dreamland. They had a 2.5D game that they scrapped, then they made a full 3D game that they scrapped, and apparently one other scrapped version. IDK if that's true, but if it is, I think that's awesome. That says to me, the game developers actually care about what they're doing instead of just trying to get our money. They could have put out all three of those (versions) games, but they weren't happy with them for whatever reason. I think that's awesome.

Well, it was worth the 11 year wait because this game is nucking futs!

Yeah, I love how there's no dialog during the opening sequence but you know exactly what's going on. "Oh no, my ship crashed and wrecked!" - "Don't worry, my friends and I will find all the scattered pieces for you!"

I'd agree with that. The only thing I wish this game had was more awesome mini games. There's only two? If there were three or four, I would give this game a perfect 10.

I was just replaying some levels, still 2-players, to get all the gears. I kinda recall some gears needing 2-players to get. Or maybe they were doable with 1 player, but just easier with 2. Anyways, I came across one great that requires 3 players in order to get. Luckily I have 4 remotes, and it was easy enough to control 2 remotes at once to get the gear then shut the third remote off. But I'm not a big fan of when games do this sort of thing. If I like the game, some times I like to go back and get 100% of everything. What if I had no one to play with?

Just played the first level. So much fun!

I also tried out the first few levels of New Super Mario Bros. Wii but really couldn't get into it. Should I try more? I just feel like I'd rather play the NES or SNES games.

New SMB Wii has a much different feel to it than previous side scrolling Mario's. It took me a while to get use to it, at least the first world or two before I was completely comfortable. But yeah, it's an awesome game, you should definitely make an attempt to play it. It's easily the best side scrolling platformer we got this generation.

Im sure the Iwata Asks interview I read made it clear that the game is 100% completable with any number of players. Perhaps you missed something?

I found SMB Wii's co-op to be difficult to manage on the same screen (ended up just playing single player), where as Kirby RTD knocks it out of the park. That was my biggest concern going into RTD since my wife and I like to complete the games together.

You know what, there was one other possible idea I had to get that gear. Let me try it with one player and see what happens. I'm curious now.

Yeah, I think RTD is much easier than NSMBW's. But it still has the same kind of problems. If I jump under the second player and hit his feet I'll get knocked down. And some times you'll "attach" to the other player when you don't want to.

But also, I didn't really find NSMBW's mulitplayer to be too hard. It took getting use to, mostly being cooperative with the other player(s). I played through the entire game with my brother, as well as doing it single player. It's just a different experience.
