I enjoyed Phantom Hourglass, but have a distinct hatred for Spirit Tracks. I mean seriously, a train conductor? So ridiculous. They should have just made an entirely new game rather than marring the Zelda franchise with such gimmicky crap.
So it's sounding like I should just keep my money for something I'd play more.
BurningDoom, I have to say I feel the exact same as you. I LOVE the original Zelda and A Link to the Past. I even quite like Zelda II and Link's Awakening. I have OoT on the N64 and, try as I might, I just cannot get into it. I get bored with it. I also have Twilight Princess on the Wii and, just like OoT, I couldn't get into it. I did manage to play through most of Phantom Hourglass, but, as a whole, it didn't hold my interest very well. I've never played the GBA games.
I imagine we have a similar taste in games, at least as far as Zelda is concerned. Unless you are collecting Zelda games, I wouldn't really bother with the 3D games.
I think all the Zelda games are great, excepting the NES titles and those CDi games. But one thing that bugs me abut the series' direction today is that the portable games now play like the 3D console games, instead of using the old 2D gameplay. No more top-down Zelda? I want both!

+1
But why not release it for the regular Wii, too? Skyward Sword shows that there's still life left in the machine.
