The vinyl album contains the orchestral score of the first BioShock game.

I must say this special edition package is very well put together.
And aside from the game, that art book is for me the best thing about this package.
Some cool stuff there.

Regarding that meagre Super Nintendo collection: recently I was able to purchase some SNES as well as some NES related stuff.
This was all from a UK seller who was trimming down his own collection.
Nothing too special but at least I now own boxed NES and SNES systems as well as a couple decent games.

Now that, sir, is video game pr0n.

Not really, other then it being the first, of what I consider, real game console. Its better than the Odyssey.

Haven't posted in here for a quite a bit.
Have bought a bunch of stuff but just too lazy to take pics of all of it.

One that I got recently was a mint condition Atari 5200 two port version.
Nothing special at all, but as I say, it is in very good nick and it came with 6 boxed/complete games.
Previously had never owned a 5200 so I'm glad to finally have gotten one.

but the main thing for me, after searching for like an eternity, I finally found an official power supply unit for the Turbo Duo.
Damn these things are hard to come by and at a decent price!

It's just some vintage electronics stuff I've been getting into lately.


I guess the following falls under the "Home Theatre" title of the main thread topic, and I didn't particularly want to start a new thread for it.


A couple of mid 60's Hitachi Portable Reel-To-Reel Tape Recorders.
The smaller unit on the right (TRQ-330) is a really great recorder.
Both are AC Bias units and tape speeds on both are compatible with 1⅞ in/s and 3¾ in/s.









A few 8-track players.

First pic is of a mid 70's style stereo Boom Box type of unit.
Below that is the Panasonic TNT Plunger. Only mono sound here and no automatic track changer. You gotta press that plunger, baby! But it's a seriously super iconic looking unit!

And, these are the joys of 8 track,
either retro heaven or hell.

The one below is the very first 8 track cart I tried out. Left it for a bit and came back to check why there was no sound.
This is what came out of the player.




Aah Yes! The wonders of 8 track!




My SJT-300 CED player,










The two at the bottom of the pic above are "Interactive" CED's.
I can't access all their features as those are only fully compatible with the 400 series CED players.









Nothing special here just an entry level Laser Disc player.
No flip-side feature on this model and no digital-out, but it's literally built like a tank! Really built to last.
$20 for the unit and the 4 movies. Not a bad deal.

For those used to Laser Discs this might not be a big deal, but I still can't get over the size difference when placing a DVD next to it.









A portable Turntable and a few LP's.
Not an expensive unit but great for using on the go and for transferring your music to PC.





Been using it to listen to the Bioshock score.
Great stuff!






Before HD-DVD and/or Blu-Ray was even a whisper in HD entertainment, Digital VHS could do up to 1080i resolution.

I got a couple movies with the unit, and let me tell you - they look great!
The Dolby Digital audio track is not bad either.






Edit: Managed to find another D-VHS player. Same make and model as the other.
So no, you don't have double vision.







Speaking of HD-DVD,
I got a bunch of them lately, all still sealed. Will crack them open soon and get to watching ém.







And, last but not least...

I've wanted one of these 16mm Projectors for a while now. Finally got one!
This is one of the auto-threading models. It's in absolutely mint condition.









Seller threw in a 16mm print as well. It's a Michael Caine late 60's anti-war film.
Nothing special in that it's no Technicolor print. It is though a very good condition Eastman film stock.
The movie has retained most of it's color and most importantly there is no sign of the dreaded vinegar syndrome.





The seller also mentioned something of "there's a couple extra goodies for you in the package as well"
So naturally I was excited over that until I found out what those "goodies" were.
If you take look at the bottom right of the above picture, there are two VCD movies there.
Obviously he was taking the mickey but I didn't find it too amusing at the time.
