Word is that the netcode is pretty good if you stick to your region. Even then, 3 bars is said to be very playable. Better than SF4 even.

Yup! I can confirm. I really hope the game is a success in the general market. I'd hate to see such efforts go to waste...

I went to pick up WWE '12 and asked about this. They had two more ps3 copies (with the 4 CDs) - not reserved. All the preorders were claimed so seems like good momentum. So, lets go Hori stick shipping already.

AFter reading the reviews on EGM and the post here im sold.
Need to get my hands on the ps3 version now
Sprites 2d fighting games are King compared to their 2d/3d counterparts.
Doesnt Street Fighter 4 feel sluggish when compared to 3rd strike or SSFTHD remix?

I have to agree with that statement. Which is why you'll fall head over heels for this game. It moves as smooth as silk thanks to it's lucious 2D sprites. I just started playing this game on a CRT tube TV using Svid at my parents place... it looks SOO good! Wow!

I had forgotten how goddamned fast this game was. I honestly think it is faster than Dreamcast 99 Evolution, but smoother. It's very close to Mark of the Wolves smooth, but not to that extreme. XIII is easily the most responsive fighting game I have played on the PS3.
My wife kicked the arcade sick and me out of the living room after about 5 minutes of play. So it was PS3 to the CRT. I didn't have any time to run a LAN cable into the gaming area so I didn't have a chance to test out online. Homey don't play on wireless.
This game was definitely designed with a JLF or even LS-32 in mind. The LS-40 I have in the HRAP is extremely unforgiving. I think I may need to build a hybrid just for KOF XIII.
The EX specials are so much more special than those in SF4. When you start finding super into EX super cancels you can easily pull combos that will eat half your opponent's health bar... if you have the meter to burn. I still haven't quite figured out the overdrive system, but it appears to be very custom combo-like.
I will roll out the 25' LAN cable at some point this week so I can play some of you PS3 guys online.

Hell yes. This game looks beautiful on an SD CRT. The jagged pixels vanish and it looks like a high rez 3rd Strike or Mark of the Wolves.CD AGES wrote:I just started playing this game on a CRT tube TV using Svid at my parents place... it looks SOO good! Wow!
