Adele - Someone like you

One of the very few songs that make me emotional...

it's a great album... but how was it ahead of its time?
I fail to see how this album hasn't influenced the vast majority of IDM artists in some way. You talk to anybody making IDM these days and ask them to list their top 5 influential albums, this is always one of them.

when it came out, I remember thinking half sounded a lot like Richard D James Album, and half (the prepared piano stuff) was obviously inspired by a lot of 20th century composers. I mean again, great album. But I fail to see how it's ahead of its time.

I see where you're coming from but this is definitely the more polished of his albums. I guess I'm talking of how influential it is, rather than how innovative it is.

Oh yeah! I really miss that era of hardcore... The early 90s-2000 emo/screamo stuff. Any bands still making music like this?
Damezumari "Riffy" I was at that particular show.
Self-Evident "Math and Jangely"
Loma Prieta "Noisey Hardcorey"
Ampere "More Hardcorey"
Abilene "Groove and Noisey"
O Pioneers I was at this particular show too. I'm playing with them again this saturday.
Man Without Plan "Super riffy/mid 90's punk and mathy" I filmed this particular one.

Oh.. and I just saw HELMET last night in a tiny ass local bar for $5!!!! Played a ton of shit off Meantime and Strap it on. Paige Hamilton and the rest of the band did an improve jazz set as "the jazz wannabes" before they played their regular set. They can sure shred and do Miles some justice at the same time.
