Re: Death of the CD-R
Anyone else still make mix tapes? I used to use them in my car, it only had a tape player. I'd basically just make a couple CD-Rs of music, then use a boombox to record to a blank tape. It was nice as I think tapes can hold more music (90 minutes?).

Re: Death of the CD-R
I did up until I finally installed a CD player in a previous car. Had some made with tunes taped from college radio that I didn't know the titles of or hadn't managed to buy them yet.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Anyone else still make mix tapes? I used to use them in my car, it only had a tape player.

That's another thing that agitated me. When I would have to get out of the car, I'd have to turn and pull out the keys, unhook my MP3 player, put it in my pocket, put the 3.5mm cable in my glove box, take out my stereo (unless I was only going to be gone for a few minutes), and if I was at school turn off my cell phone. It may not sound like much, but it would take forever for me to get out of my car.Ziggy587 wrote:When I first got my mp3 player I was using it with the AUX in on my deck for a while. It got to be annoying though. Having to look for it to switch tracks and whatnot is annoying, but more annoying in my opinion is having to set it up every time I get in the car. And then of course having to turn it off when I leave. Much easier to just use the CD player built into my dashboard.GSZX1337 wrote:I have AUX-in with my stereo, but I still use CD-Rs. Dumb question, but would an MP3 player with speakers be a solution? (I know at least Creative brands had their line of "Stone" players; though those speakers tend to be as tiny as the MP3 player.) But you would still have the hassle of charging the device from your lighter.GSZX1337 wrote:That's another thing that agitated me. My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
