Calling all Sega Saturn owners

Post by vlame »

What is your manufacture date, serial number and model number on your sega saturns.

Gonna make a rough guide to identify a 32 pin IC apart from a 64 pin IC and Sanyo board.

Nope sorry. I dont know how to mod. I fear opening them up. One time I took one apart that I found, its outer case was cracked. Just to have a look at it. when I put it back together. I made it worse. I didn't put the plastic(?) sheet back in its place and the the screen was garbled and the colors were crazy.

The oval one is my main console. The round ones are ones that I got recently. If they are busted and dont work I'll take some pics of them. As soon as my lazy ass gets to trying them. :?

It's as simple as:

1) Turn the system over and remove 6 screws from the bottom
2) Turn the system back over and lift the top off
3) Locate the IC that's right smack in the middle and tell us how many pins it has
OR: Take a CLEAR picture of the board so we can determine what it has
4) Put the top back on, put the screws back in... DONE!

The hardest part about it will be not loosing the screws, but other than that, unless you're spilling soda all over it, it's a simple thing to do. You don't need to know how to mod. You just have to lift the top of the console off, take a pic, then put it back on. Easy as pie.
