Gamespot gives Skyward Sword 7.5/10

I don't understand? It's the same as it always has been, just in a slightly different instrumentation (as it always differs from game to game, but the core melody stays the same). The small item find is the same one from Wind Waker.

From the videos of the demo I have seen, it does sound different, but similiar. Maybe it's just because of the way the music is being play, different instruments.

The instrumentation changes on every single Zelda game... I'm not sure what you're getting at.

It must just be that the tv speakers are going. I just watched a youtube video and it does not sound as bad as it did when I played it.

Can we stop using the "bro" designation? It is even more irritating than the "hardcore" label. Believe it or not, some of us can enjoy the latest COD or Halo, Zelda or Mario, and niche Atlus or Xseed titles equally.

Can we at least wait until this game is actually out and we get a chance to play it before we start slamming negative reviews of it? I mean, I'm definitely looking forward to this game and can't wait to get it, but come on here.

Yeah, how can you have an opinion on a game you haven't even played yet? Much more, one that hasn't even been RELEASED yet? Sure, we can reasonably assume it's going to be great, but it just seems silly to debate this point, for three reasons. One, as I just said, I'm going to wager that you probably haven't player Skyward Sword yet, so you don't really have a meaningful opinion on it yet. Second, that's just the thing; it's just their opinion. The majority of reviewers have given Skyward Sword VERY favorable reviews, so why dwell on the outlier? Which leads me to my third point: IT'S GAMESPOT. I thought it was a general consensus here on RB that their tastes don't match up with our tastes very well, so we just ignore them.

It's out already. You have the playable demo that has been floating around for a few weeks and now the actual game has been leaked the past week. So people are playing it in advance of it being in the stores.

I dunno, I use the term "bro gamer" to refer to people who play flashy expensive Hollywood-inspired Western games almost exclusively. The type of gamer who wouldn't know a Sega Saturn if someone hit them in the nuts with it.

I understand it sounds disrespectful, can someone think of a better term? I really see no problem in classifying gamers by niche and type, it's almost necessary these days. Simply calling yourself a "gamer" is like saying "I like music".
