This is true. However, you can use a GameCube controller.Octopod wrote:JokermanJohnny wrote:So, if lag is the only thing that's hurting the PS2 version of Metal Slug Anthology, then I might pick it up, unless you guys have heard anything about the Wii versions of that game and SNK Classics Vol. 1...
I would not get the Wii version. As far as I know it does not support the classic controller.

Comparing the following on either Gamecube or PC with the current steam sale
Prince of Persia games
Beyond Good and Evil
And the following I want to compare the GBA ports to the original (flashing the noise signal here)
-Tales of Phantasia
-Final Fantasy IV and VI/II and III on SNES
-Legend of Zelda: LttP (the two NES classics as well I guess)
-Megaman and Bass
-Donkey Kong Country I-III
-Breath of Fire I/II
-The Lost Vikings

Final Fantasy IV I'd definiltey get on GBA over the SNES version. The SNES version came out during nintendo's censorship days and had its difficulty gimped, along with a pretty poor translation filled with sentence fragments for dialogue.AmishSamurai wrote:bumpingAmishSamurai wrote:May as well throw out my queries as well.

VI you're okay with the GBA or SNES one, SNES has better music quality but the GBA one has some extra features. Also the GBA translation's slightly different, though really it hinges on how much you liked the Woosley translation in the original.
can't really help on the rest

I'd suggest getting Rockman & Forte for the Super Famicom over GBA's Mega Man & Bass (if you can afford it). The GBA version crops the top of the screen, it's a problem on several stages and bosses. It's a decent port otherwise (and I think the game is terrific).

Steam versions don't give you a permanent hard copy on disc or playing easily on the HD.AmishSamurai wrote:[May as well throw out my queries as well.

As for original console to GBA comparison, another aspect.
GBA portability convenience a plus since you can also play it on the Gamecube GB Player. However a better screen resolution of Console versions vs GBA version thru the GC GB Player, Donkey Kong Country for example.

You guys just reminded me of a question regarding Megaman and Bass. I bought the game fairly used and most of the CDs (the collectable items) have been collected. Is there any way for me to reset the game so I can start off fresh?
