What shmup are you playing now?

My fiance' surprised me with deathsmiles. Not at all what I expected, and actually really fun to play. I still have yet to achieve my first 1cc in any game though =(

Got my Hi on Pro Gear last night - 4,610,650.

Won't make the top 10 list on shmups, but i'm pleased.

Sad part was I made it through the first 3 stages w/o dying, then lost my 3 lives, plus my free life (at 3mil) in about 45 seconds on stage 4. That board is tough, but I think if I play it a few more times i'll figure it out. Its an odd board, its a vertically scrolling level, but your gunners are still facing horizontally as in all the previous levels.

Lol. Arrow Flash has the makings of a great shmup, but the difficulty is really lacking. I don't think I'd feel too good about that 1cc.

I have very few 1ccs under my belt, and most of them are considered fairly easy games. Instead, I focus on score, because I know I can always beat my own score.

However, Deathsmiles is a pretty good one to aim for 1cc. Picking level 1 for each stage and skipping the bonus stage, all you'll need to really practice is the last stage.

Still working on Soukyugurentai. I'm having a hell of a time with it. I do great on my first "cold" play when I sit down to it. I will get a decent score and pretty close to the end. Every play after is just trash. At this point it looks like I'm just going to have to beat it on a cold run or get to a point where I can have multiple solid plays in one sitting. *sigh*

This happens to me also. It seems the longer I play a shmup in one setting I start to get worse.
