DLC, to me, is like extra stuff that you can choose get (or not) after you buy the game. You came to play the game, but while there you were enticed to buy some other things to enhance the experience - much like movie theater popcorn after buying the movie ticket. I don't believe that DLC "should have been included in the game" - that argument is invalid as long as the game stands on its own without it. DLC episodes, skins, cash etc. are just extras that you can take or leave, and if not having them ruins your enjoyment of the game because it makes it feel "incomplete" to you than you have a problem. You might be the kind of person who CAN'T enjoy a movie without some popcorn on your lap. Don't blame the companies for selling what people are willing to buy.
Wow, that IS a good analogy. The key phrase here is "as long as the game stands on its own without it". If we can give the game to someone who doesn't know DLC exists for it and they feel it was a full experience all the way through then the DLC is benign. If our hypothetical player feels like something is missing or incomplete then this is a game damaged by DLC.

As a side note, if you want to cure yourself from needing to have popcorn when you go to the movie theater just work there for a summer.
I don't like popcorn anyway.

As someone who worked in a theater for a good while, I can attest that this is the most truthful post ever.

I very much agree with dsheim's point.

The railworks complain is flat-out dumb and the insult to train drivers was uncalled for.

It's also pretty obvious that the writer has not played the game because the game already includes trains, what you buy is more content for the game as you would with a expansion pack.

But really, nothing that he didn't say himself when he bolded "20$ EACH" and then showed a picture with prices as low as 5$.

Anyways, the cracked formula is getting stale. The construction, delivery and content of the jokes is always the same.

I think they're slowly moving away from the "10 ___ YOU WON'T BELIEVE ARE ____" type of article, which is probably a good thing.

What if this "good shit" would only be created if there was potential for developer compensation?

To the people complaining about DLC, have you guys played Shivering Isles, Episodes From Liberty City or the RDR add-ons? They are awesome.
