I would not do anything rash, being more thankful to have a gamer girlfriend than "stuff". I'm not denying I would feel anger in that situation, but the stereotypical "I'd kill the bitch" response is way out of line. In the end it's just "stuff", not worth committing violence against a female.

Now fucking with her head and systematically breaking her down psychologically, slowly destroying her free will and sense of worth, molding her into an obedient subservience, that's revenge served cold, more my style.

When I JUST got back into retro games around a year ago I brought up the NES, after two decades, from the storage room with the light gun, Duck Hunt/Super Mario Bros./World Class Track Meet cart, and an NES Advantage... hooking all that up was pure bliss. When I went for the model 1 Genesis with Altered Beast however, it turns out that my parents threw it away only a WEEK before. Needless to say I was pretty pissed... I got a Sega CDX later though so everything is okay.

Everyone I know, even those in my generation growing up with the systems, doesn't seem to get why I would play "retro" games when I can play (obviously superior) modern ones... sigh. It is referred to by my family as old garbage really. I'm glad they at least didn't throw away more before I got to them.

That /v/ story doesn't sound TOO exaggerated... sounds like a lot of cases I have heard about actually. Of course the person throwing them away wouldn't be able to list what they are and their acronyms though.

This made me think of something though. The other day I was in a retro game shop and some guy sold his entire NES collection (with lots of CIB games) so he could buy a 3DS and some new games. Broke my heart.

Things like this i dont understand, if your a Huge gamer and visit gaming websites, and have lived and breathe video games since a child, how and why do you marry someone who doesnt know jack shit about games.

I can understand if your into maybe Cars/Automotives and your wife isnt! but Gaming doesnt have to be gender specific, hell men dig chicks who into cars even if it can be intimidating sometimes.

I wouldnt be intimidated if a chick was into games, i would loathe her.

Well I don't really consider it a big deal. I've only been really into gaming (that is, collecting retro consoles and whatnot) since 2009, and I've been with my wife since '02. And as far as my hobbies go, gaming is only in about 3rd place or so.
