This is a valid question I'm curious about as well, because when I beat FFV Advance earlier this year and was just googling around and looking into awesome pictures or things on ExDeath, it sounds like his character was a lot more popular in Japan than Kefka (and ExDeath is playable in one of those fighting games, not sure if Kefka is?). Supposedly in Japanese Kefka's dialogue is weird dialects and it sounded like Ted Woolsey's take on his character was actually a really good move, and simply gave him a bit more "character" than how he came off in Japan. I just saw a few comments say people thought he was like a cardboard copy of ExDeath in Japan or something. They really are kind of similar to an extent, just crazy lunatics, but with a vastly different fashion sense... lol.AppleQueso wrote:Do the japanese even like VI very much? IV's had numerous remakes and at least one sequel, V had an anime sequel, X and XIII had sequels, VII had a movie, a psp game, and at least one other thingy I can't remember.
So yeah, I'm kinda wondering if the love for FFVI is solely a western phenomenon?
I'm sure FFVI is popular over there, but yeah maybe not as revered as FFIV, or FFVII perhaps, unlike here in the West where it usually seems to be the top pick for most.
Maybe someone can correct me or elaborate here, but that's the vibe I got when I stumbled upon a handful of discussions and such recently awhile back.
Anyways, I'm still waiting for the next Battletoads.
