Thanks for the update. I will try to get one.retrosportsgamer wrote:Heard from a local classic game dealer that these are coming out next week. They had a prototype for sale and he said he had just ordered the real ones. Only 500 produced. Screen is HUGE. Will sit very big in your hands (like a lynx almost) but looks awesome.

I'm excited, it's been a long wait!
BTW, it's up for pre-order at Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/Hyperkin-SUPABOY- ... B005GSRPG8
$79.99 and a November 15th release date. I just put my pre-order since I have Amazon Prime (no tax + free 2-day shipping.)

where does it say only 500 produced, that seems oturageous and i dont see how they could make any money off that small amount.retrosportsgamer wrote:Heard from a local classic game dealer that these are coming out next week. Unsubstantiated - that's what the store owner told me.Hazerd wrote:where does it say only 500 produced, that seems oturageous and i dont see how they could make any money off that small amount.retrosportsgamer wrote:Heard from a local classic game dealer that these are coming out next week. Re: Supaboy - New 3rd party SNES handheld
I'm hoping the various problems with the 100 prototype units that were sent out have been addressed before Hyperkin even thinks about releasing the final build. I mean otherwise, what's the point of the prototyping phase and the questionnaires that were filled out?
If you guys want to to read more on the Supa Boy, I suggest checking out the thread on digitalpress. There I asked owners of the original 100 prototype units some pretty detailed questions regarding the performance of the handheld and got some great responses from those who own them.

Sounds like they were working on the final retail build while getting intermittent feedback along the way from the prototype guys. I spoke to the one guy you got a response from late in the thread (his store is by me). I hope they don't take the locking device out. I also really like that SFC carts work here.Satoshi_Matrix wrote:I'm hoping the various problems with the 100 prototype units that were sent out have been addressed before Hyperkin even thinks about releasing the final build. If this is as limited as some of you say it is I'm gonna be pissed. I won't be able to afford one until well after the Holidays.

Oh wow this looks REALLY cool. Hopefully it's not as limited as those rumors are saying. I'm getting a bunch of extra cash come the first of December, I may grab this then.
Anyone else intend to immediately plug a Super Game Boy into it?

If you're interested, I am selling my Yobo FC 16 GO, which was the world's first commercial portable SNES. This one has some very nice design features such as 2.4 GHz wireless controllers that are EXCELLENT and a flip-top design to keep the LCD from getting scratched that the Hyperkin variant does not.
Here's my full review of it.
I'm selling it boxed and complete anywhere in North America for $60 US shipped. PM me if interested.
