Best Mega Man game?
Best Mega Man game?
So, right now I'm playing through Mega Man X4 on PS1 and I'm loving it! I was never a huge Mega Man fan growing up, probly cuz they were too difficult for me, but lately I've been getting into the series. So I wanna know what you guys think. What's the best Mega Man game?

Re: Best Mega Man game?
depends which day you ask me. But some of my tops:
Mega Man 3 (NES) - my favorite of the NES games, followed closely by 2. But this one just has impeccable level design, awesome bosses, and of course some of the best music of the series.
Mega Man X (SNES) - so possibly my favorite. Probably the one I've played the most. It's just unreal. Here's my take on the remakes: http://www.rfgeneration.com/blogs/noise ... s-1616.php
Mega Man X4 (PS1) - another mind-blower. Read about it here: http://www.rfgeneration.com/blogs/noise ... 4-1805.php
Mega Man V (GB) - a bit of a lost 8bit gem. The only MM on GB to consist of entirely original levels and bosses!

Mega Man 2 and Mega Man X4 are the best representatives of their series in my opinion. Everything that came after X4 was subpar and eventually the series managed to make itself unplayable.

MM2 for me, all the way.

II! Loved it as a kid and is the only one I ever beat. Wish I still owned it (my brother spilled orange juice on it).

I hate to be "that guy" but II would be the Game Boy game. And 2 would be the NES game. Did you mean the GB one?BoneSnapDeez wrote:II! Loved it as a kid and is the only one I ever beat. Wish I still owned it (my brother spilled orange juice on it).

LOL yes, I meant the NES one. I forgot that the Game Boy and NES games used different numbering systems (Roman numerals vs. counting numbers).noiseredux wrote:I hate to be "that guy" but II would be the Game Boy game. The Game Boy games were solid though, and I like how they were completely original games instead of just watered-down ports.
Re: Best Mega Man game?
MM2 always seems to win here, but I'm totally with noise on with MM3. It brought in Protoman, the slide, and was a bigger game, had to fight all the MM2 bosses over again, and yeah just epic stuff. Still I probably hold MM2 in highest regard next to it.
From there it's hard for me to decide between MMX-X3, I'd probably go with the original, but X-X3 are amazing as well, and X4 was very good.
Dunno if I'd say I loved the Zero games when I marathoned them this year, but they were totally worth playing and Zero 4 had probably the most epic final boss fight in Megaman history.
Megaman & Bass is worth a mention.
So just a few games to check out.

Yeah, MM 1-6, 9-10 are epic. 7 and 8 are decent but still worth a play. MM&B is amazing. MMX-X5 are all worth playing, X6 if you really want more, and Zero 1-4 are pretty good. MMV on the GB is really cool and unique as well, I'd love to see an NES demake/remix? of that one, haha. Megaman Xtreme 1-2 on the GB are worth hitting up also.Rokogu wrote:Looks like I've got alot games to try out
