Nes sound not working?
Nes sound not working?
For some reason my nes system will not produce any sound? Is there any trouble shooting for this particular problem.
Re: Nes sound not working?
So let's get this straight, is there video but with no sound? Do you turn the NES console on, you see the game come on the TV screen, but there's no audio? And this happens with every game? Is the video fine (no graphical garbage or anything - you can play the game just fine)?
I know it's a stupid question, but to get the the dumb stuff out of the way, does the sound on your TV work with other devices (other game consoles, cable box, DVD player, etc?). Is the volume turned up, and mute is not active?
Now that that's out of the way, the first step is easy: It does not produce any sound with the RF connection, the composite AV (RCA, red and yellow) connection, or both?
If there's no sound with RF, then try the RCA connection. And vise versa.
If there's no sound with either, try different cables (both RF and RCA).
Check your TV, try a different device on the SAME input to verify that the sound is working on your TV and on that input. Try your NES on a different TV, then try it on a different TV with different cables.
Clean your carts AND the cart slot in the console. See here: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 52&t=33819

Re: Nes sound not working?
I tried all of what you stated prior to posting the comment. Thats why I posted it after doing all of the above. It occurs with all games and my tv is a sound champion. im thinking something internal.
