I like the solid black background on the label.

Ack! Where were you when it was thinking time? I think a black cart with blue grooves would look awesome! I could possibly do one cart blue with black grooves, then another black with blue grooves. They'd still match, kinda. They'd just be brothers, instead of identical.

So here's the tallies for the labels:

Pro checkered/tiled/grid line background:
Hobie
Vlame
BoringSupreez
RyaNtheSlayA

Pro solid black background:
Seven
Fast
o.pwuaioc
SuperAnthony64
CFFJR
Ack

Solid black is winning 6-4.

And here's the tallies for the cart color:

Leave it grey!
???

Blue with black grooves or black with blue grooves:
Ack
CFFJR
RyaNtheSlayA

Colored cart, whichever way, seems to be wanted. Good, I've already sprayed one cart.

What ever the finished product ends up being, some people are gonna like it and it's gonna piss some people off. There's no way around that.

If you do go with a black cart with blue outlines, are you planning on using the casing for a Killer Instinct cart as your base and going from there, or will you start with a grey cart and paint the entire thing?

If I do that, I would start with a grey cart and spray it black. For a number of reasons. But honestly, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference (save for the blue lines). Krylon Fusion is THAT good.

I'm gonna go against the flow and say I'd like the cart itself to be solid blue. No black.

Thinking about it, it really depends on the game. Terranigma needs to be all black. Just fits. I always wondered when I saw non-Turok black N64 carts, especially when they were games like Rugrats in Paris or Scooby Doo. Uncool.
