Re: SNES fuse repair
There are glass fuses that have a sort of 'lump' in the wire. Or maybe you've got some large glass diodes?

Re: SNES fuse repair
Or maybe they ARE resistors, but they were mounted in fuse holders for some really odd reason for some random project.
Re: SNES fuse repair
so since the .85a is being fed, it will never go over that, so anything bigger is fine.
got it, gonna order tonight.

Re: SNES fuse repair
Well you can't say ANYTHING bigger than that is fine. If that were true, there'd be no point to the fuse. The 1.5A fuse that's on there blew, so obviously more than 1.5A tried to pass through it.
Re: SNES fuse repair
i mean "Fine" as in the snes will run without problems until the fuse pops again due to an electrical.
the whole reason im asking is because i want to make the fuse easily replaceable if it were to happen again.

Re: SNES fuse repair
The power supply could short internally or a surge could overload it and send more than the .85 to the system. That's one of the reasons the fuse it there.vlame wrote:so since the .85a is being fed, it will never go over that, so anything bigger is fine.

But the 1.5 fuse and holder you linked should be fine since it had that rating in it to begin with.

Re: SNES fuse repair
Those fuses are 10 Amp. Nearly as useless as just soldering a piece of wire there.

more amps are worse? so less amps is better?Hobie-wan wrote:Those fuses are 10 Amp. Nearly as useless as just soldering a piece of wire there.
