Can Amazon giftcards be used to purchased used items?

can't seem to find a clear answer on their FAQ. Can you use Amazon giftcards to buy used stuff from sellers, or just new items?

Yes sir. I've never been denied a used game, CD, book, microwave, etc. You can also use your Amazon Rewards (if you have an Amazon Chase card) towards used merchandise.

Amazon gift cards can be used to purchase anything on the Amazon site.

You can just go ahead and add you Amazon gift cards to your account, whether you're gonna use them right away or not. The next time your checking out, it'll just be like a discount off whatever your buying.

Just going to triple confirm that yes you can. One of my favorite things is to go to Coinstar and dump all my loose change there in exchange for an Amazon.com gift certificate. There's no fee if you do that (as opposed to cash) and you can get all kinds of used games off Amazon.com so it's pretty sweet.

Ditto. I've used it a few times (for cash) when I wanted to unload my pennies but the amazon thing makes it more worthwhile to unload my money jar.

Amazon can be a killer for shipping if you are buying multiple items - but if you're strategic you can make out well.

Up until recently my Chase Leisure Rewards got me at least $100 worth of Amazon gift cards per year, and it costs $20/year to have it. But yeah, the Coinstar thing is awesome too, especially since you don't have to pay the fee.
