That's the problem though, at low levels you don't have adequate tools for flushing them out if they get in a good spot. Especially on certain maps where they camp outside your area of operation. It's impossible to kill them unless you have unlocked a decent sniper rifle.

That hasn't been my experience. Even wih a beginner rifle, just pop them in the head before they see you. And I am no expert or particularly good by any means. You playing on pc or console?

I'm contemplating using the Razor hack to bypass Origin but I don't want to be robbed of my legitimate purchase. I'll wait a week or so maybe EA will ban "circumventors"

360, I refuse to buy it on PC because of Origin.

For all its computational requirements this game is hardly spectacular. Destructible environments my arse.. also objects still clip into walls and entering/exiting vehicles hasn't changed in ten years.

Hmm I think it looks quite impressive...

I agree, it's one of the best looking games I've ever seen (Right next to other amazing looking games like Final Fantasy XIII, The Witcher 2, Crysis 2 with the DX11 and HiRes texture pack, Metro 2033, Gears Of War 3 or Killzone 3).

I'm trying to decide whether I want to get this game for my 360, or buy a PC to play it on, since I only have a 6 year old laptop right now. The main thing that concerns me is the smaller map and team size on the consoles, but that doesn't seem to have been an issue with BF2BC2. I have to say, while playing BF3 on my buddy's computer, I've had fewer WTF moments than I do playing BF2BC2 on my 360. In fact, I feel like I had quite a few "Hell yeah!" moments in the short amount of time I've had with it so far.

Also, I've never understood the frustration with snipers or campers. Yeah, snipers can hit you from stupid long ranges, but just use a bit of strategy and take him out. Same thing with campers. They don't move, you know where they are, now go kill'em

So I am now 4-5 missions in on the campaign, and so far it feels like they have tried to be as close to COD:MW as they can, and have largely missed the mark. It was the same problem with the MOH campaign (which was worse than this). It is a shame they haven't just built on the excellent strengths of BC1 and BC2.

EDIT: Holy shit, I am apparently half way through the game already after two very short play sessions, most of which has felt like tutorial hand-holding. Ugh.

How's the surprising? That's CoD 101! 4 hour campaigns (max) baby! ...

I never even touched the BC2 campaign though and probably won't even bother with this one, so oh well. Not why I'd buy a BF game.
