It's a very niche game. But do look into 3D Dot Game Heroes, no matter how much I personally love Hyperdimension.

For fun exclusive FPSs, you can't go wrong with Killzone and Resistance series; just keep in mind that they get better with each installment so you might want to play them chronological order. One exclusive series that I love on ps3 is the Motorstom series. It is an offroad racing game that doesn't get enough attention imo.

Catherine has compressed cut scenes in the 360 version, unlike the PS 3 version. I think Lens of Truth and Digital Foundry did comparison's of Lords of Shadow and stated that the PS 3 version is slightly better. There's no definite concensus on which version of Batman Arkham Asylum is better. Some say the 360 version looks sharper, while the PS 3 version supposedly has a more helpful, pulled back camera view. Personally, I found the controls during combat to be slightly more responsive and reliable on the PS 3 controller. Along with the PS 3 exclusive Joker content, I find the PS 3 version preferable
So basically, get all of those games on the PS 3. The games are great on either console though. We're talking about pretty minor differences. There are some games where the differences are more noticeable between the two consoles however. Avoid games like The Orange Box, Final Fantasy XIII, Bayonetta and Tomb Raider Underworld on the PS 3. The first three are bad ports and TR Underworld has DLC exlusive to the 360. Mirror's Edge is a game better on the PS 3 though. Batman Arkham City has slightly better performance on the 360, but is great on both consoles.
You should check out Flower and Heavy Rain, two great PS 3 exclusives. 3D Dot Game Heroes is a great clone of the overhead Zelda titles(the NES original and Link to the Past), but isn't as good as a proper Zelda game. PS 3 does have a lot of great exclusives and is my favorite current gen console, though I find the previous comment about some of its games being better than anything on the 360 to be quite an exaggeration. I can easily name some 360 titles that can match anything on the PS 3

- Catherine: Seeing as how it was made by the people who made Persona 4, which I absolutely love, I'm going to be buying this...
Arkham Asylum and Arkham City: Being a fan of many things related to the Batman, especially the Joker, I have to ask myself why I don't have these games already...
Orange Box: Already got it on the 360. Just trying to get through Portal first...
Final Fantasy XIII: Linearity has turned me off the game, but I might change my mind in the future...
Bayonetta: Since the game reminds me of Devil May Cry, I'll be getting it. It's just a matter of when...
Tomb Raider: Never really was that big a fan, though the upcoming game does look interesting...
Mirror's Edge: Heard good things about it. Not sure I want to get it just yet though...
Flower: Never heard of it. Would like to know what it's like though...
Heavy Rain: Heard good things about it and will be getting it. Just a matter of when...
3D Dot Game Heroes: Will be getting this. Just a matter of when...

It's actually developed by Silicon Studios, but From co-developed it and helped funding. Silicon made a small demo with the game's build, and From liked it so much that they offered to help fund and publish it.noiseredux wrote:Atlus published it. It's developed by From though.

Re: FINALLY got enough money to get a PS3 and some games...
I don't know if this thread is still alive or not, but I wanted to let you guys in on an update on the games I bought, my brief thoughts on them and recommendations I've received as a result:
- Sonic Generations: Very enjoyable, although slightly disappointing in some aspects...
3D Dot Game Heroes: Can't help but think this is a mix between the original Legend of Zelda and Dragon Quest for some reason...
The Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection: Even though I already have Shadow of the Colossus, the restoration REALLY makes the game pop out, especially on my old TV...
- Dark Souls: Interested in Demons Souls, but should I get this on the same system?
Flower: Not recommended, but gamerforlife brought it up and I'm curious to know what its about...
Dragon Age Origins: Heard a lot of good things about it...
Skyrim: One of my real-life friends asked me about this and asked my thoughts on this. Because of this (and the media hype) I'm wanting to look into this and...
Oblivion: My friend told me this was also available on the original Xbox, but seeing as how the 15th Anniversary Edition is available on the PS3, my curiousity is getting the better of me...
Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection: This is mainly due to the fact that I love the Genesis and I've become addicted to trophy collecting...
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions: Heard good things about it, but I don't know which version to get...
Rayman Origins: Looks great and reminds me of New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Now if I can just figure out which version to get...

I think he meant 360, not original Xbox...JokermanJohnny wrote:Oblivion: My friend told me this was also available on the original Xbox, but seeing as how the 15th Anniversary Edition is available on the PS3, my curiousity is getting the better of me...

it's pretty much a straight up homage to Zelda and 8-bit/16-bit RPG's. That's kind of the point of the game. I can't tell if you're saying that that's a good thing or a bad thing?JokermanJohnny wrote: 3D Dot Game Heroes: Can't help but think this is a mix between the original Legend of Zelda and Dragon Quest for some reason...
