No doubt about that! I don't actually recommend using foil instead of a fuse (or spare wire, or whatever is under the cushions on your couch). Yeah, it would work in a pinch, but of course if there is a surge... the protection that the fuse would have given is no longer there. Fuses are fairly simple to replace. Without a fuse, you'd be spending who knows how much time trying to find out what blew. Then, depending on what blew, it might be way more trouble/expense than it's worth.
