What was the last movie you've seen?

Me too, but he clearly said "I thought..." so it's just an opinion.

Go see Puss N Boots. The pop culture stuff is almost entirely eliminated, and well, it's a lot funnier than any Shrek movie in my opinion. I think Shrek has a better story (just the first one) but Puss is a laugh out louder.

I've been planning to do that. Everyone seems to think it's a lot better than Shrek 3 and 4.

If you don't like it, I'll eat my hat.

It's in the Shrek-verse, but don't expect a lot of Shrek references. I think calling it meta is going a little too far, but it is a movie that is self aware to an understandable level.

And trust me, the jokes that seem dumb in the trailers work really well in the movie.

I've been rewatching the original Star Wars trilogy for the first time in probably ten years. I watched Return of the Jedi yesterday and it was better than I remembered. When I was a kid I would always fast foward through the scenes with the Emperor and the final light saber duel to get back to the space and Endor action scenes. This time I was geniunely excited for the Emperor's scenes as he was my favorite part of the movie.

The original originals or the SE originals?

Funny thing, last time I watched it I actually found Jedi to be a whole lot worse than I remember. Nothing about it is necessarily bad, but it feels really padded. I agree that the emperor scenes are fantastic for sure though, they're definitely the best part of the film. I really like the jabba's palace stuff too, but the action scenes all felt like they lacked the weight that the action scenes in Empire had. Plus the Ewoks were a pretty lame and obvious marketing ploy.

Are you referring to the movie or Carrie Fisher's metal bra?

The original originals on DVD. I do agree that the first two are superior films but I think this one is still fantastic. And while the Ewoks are lame, I find them far more bearable than the CG aliens in the prequels (even excluding Jar Jar).

Nice.

Jedi is probably the equivalent to Jone's Temple of Doom. Lots of fun, over the top, and has nonstop action. It's not bad, and would be considered great if not associated with the other films.

Seen The King of Kong and Chasing Ghosts recently, loved them both, King of Kong is fantastic. Anyone know any other gaming movies like them?
