The Sims is hardly a realistic game, though. Actually, Rainbow Six or whatever shooter is popular with kids these days is far, far more realistic than The Sims. The Sims is about as realistic as a harlequin book set in the atomic-family-50's.

If games are escapism, doesn't realism go against the entire point of gaming?
So I like unrealistic games better. Realistic games also tend to fall into the uncanny valley.
