Retro Bit Universal 3-in-1 AC adapter

Post by o.pwuaioc »

Anyone familiar with this adapter or perhaps the one that's sold here? Are they any good? Would I be better spending more than twice for an original one for my model 1 gen?

For the model 1 Genesis, yes, save your pennies up for an official one.

I have the yellow box one that I bought off eBay a while back. I was using it for my Famicom for a while, works fine for that. I ended up cutting the SNES wire off of it to fix another SNES power adapter (that had a busted wire). When I got my model 1 Genesis, I tried this adapter out and got the fucked up audio problem. Apparently the model 1 Genesis doesn't like shitty power adapters. Luckily, I rummaged through my spare AC adapters and found a nice Casio that I now use for the Genesis.

So if you don't get an official Sega power adapter, at least try and find a half way decent power adapter and not a cheap garbage one.

edit: As for the Retro Bit, I could only guess that it is almost identical to the yellow box one as far as quality goes.
