I am in the same boat. I have the wrong version modem for setting up the PC-DC server. Even if I had one, looking at the method to get online you need to have a degree in rocket science just to set everything up on the computer.

You can use the Sylent PSO Patcher boot disc released last month and a free dialup ISP to get PSO online. At least I think so. I haven't gotten it working myself yet.
