Economic games I can think of that I've played are Civilization, SimCity, and Recettear. Only the last really had a primary economic focus, and that system was rather easily broken.

oh ok

Come on dude haven't you ever played Civilization as the Greeks? Our leader is always Alexander. Poor Pericles has to wait till the expansion pack to get it. And I think Venizelos (the only big name modern Greece leader) has never been put in a Civ game. I need to send an email to Firaxis xD

Oh, yes, Alexander the Dick, know for his irrational hatred of human players =p

One can never argue with a Greek about Alexander the Great. Granted the modern day "Macedonians" are Slavs with no relation to the ancient Macedonians, but it doesn't help the Greek cause when some Greeks thought Philip was a barbarian, Alexander I had to prove he was eligible for the Olympic Games (meaning they probably became Hellenized by using the fictitious genealogy; see Hall's Ethnic Identity for background on this) and even after Alexander Eumenes was clearly the odd man out of the otherwise Macedonian generals (cf. Green's Alexander to Actium, p. 7).

Don't be surprised he's not in there. Hardly anyone outside of Greece has ever heard of him.

Who said there ever was a time we weren't dicks who contradicted ourselves and didn't even know what we, ourselves wanted?

And @Boringsupreez

yeah, but to be honest I haven't heard of half the leaders of the lesser Civilizations. (Heck I haven't heard a single thing about the Japanese leaders). But that's a great thing about Civ games. To educate :). I read a lot of the history articles on CivPedia :)

You can actually "play" the stock market. Most trader service sites aren't that pretty beyond line graphs, but it beats your girlfriend from Wall Street Kid asking you to buy her a new purse everyday.

All this Greek talk makes me want to play a Greece-based 4x game.
