Another thought. If you get boxes would you have a Racketboy-charity auction themed manual printed off to include with the game?
Or is that not feasible at this time?

not to threadjack - this is a great idea - but it is sad to see more votes here than in the charity voting thread

Re: Repro carts for charity auction - opinions wanted!
^ People are probably just taking a little time to think about it. I know it wasn't too easy for me to decide. Anyways, I just voted now.
Re: Repro carts for charity auction - opinions wanted!
That's easy enough to add in. Once we're close to finished, I was planning to make final versions of all the different ideas (at least the ideas worthy enough). We can say which one we like the best.YoshiEgg25 wrote:I'd like to see the black background keep the RB tiled look.
Idk, it might not look too bad at all. I could do a test print and see how it comes out. I think the silver I posted above and the gold I'm about to post (see below) have potential. Still, I'm gonna try the blue idea you came up with, and I'm not totally against the white version I posted above.Thamiel wrote:Looking good Zig! I'd drop the silver or gold idea though unless we can get proper metallic ink going, you did about as well as can be done with it but it still looks just..."off".
Not that it's not feasible, but I don't have the time for that. Maybe if I had a nice laser printer with duplex, and the time to either create or acquire the manual and make the additions to it, then it'd be something to consider. But sadly, that is not the case. There's always next year though.Opa Opa wrote:Another thought. If you get boxes would you have a Racketboy-charity auction themed manual printed off to include with the game?

But as far as the cases are concerned, I did have a couple good idea. Instead of making "special edition" notes on the front or back cover, I could make an inside cover. So, the outside (front, side, and back) cover would look completely normal, but when you open the case up the inside cover will have the "special edition" message. This is possible because the UGC are transparent. The only problem is with this, now we're talking about 2 full page prints per cart. That will suck the ink right out of my printer!
Anyways, here's the gold version I described eariler:

edit: As always, after I post the image here I realize something that would make it look better. I like the way it looks, but if the gold was a slightly brighter color, it would look a little better. I think it's a little too dark right now.
Re: Repro carts for charity auction - opinions wanted!
Your White or Silver gets a vote for me, the gold texture you've used has made things a bit soft looking. Actually, i'd say the white. The white, blue and black works really well as a monochromatic scheme, add in the full colour contrast from the game artwork and your onto a winner I say!
Doing an inlay on a UGC is a great idea btw.

Re: Repro carts for charity auction - opinions wanted!
Yeah, I love the inlay idea. Not only would it look cool, but it will help for the people that need uniformity. If all SNES games have a red SNES logo, these people would hate one with a white, silver or gold logo on the side of it.
But like I said, that's gonna suck up my ink. If I do 2 SNES carts, that's gonna be 4 full page prints that I have to do. And since they'll probably be on photo paper with my printer set to best quality, that's really gonna suck up the ink. I know you said you have access to a really good printer, but I'm just worried about shipping. You're in Australia, right?

Yeah, don't worry about it though. Easy enough to buy a proper paper mailer.

print it at a store?Ziggy587 wrote:Yeah, I love the inlay idea. Not only would it look cool, but it will help for the people that need uniformity. If all SNES games have a red SNES logo, these people would hate one with a white, silver or gold logo on the side of it.

My B/S/T list
I also rent and sell PS2, Wii and XBOX softmod-kits and I collect DVD movies let me know what you have.
Re: Repro carts for charity auction - opinions wanted!
Yeah, I was thinking about that too. I just passed a print shop on the way back from my doctor's today and I think I know where one or two others are. I might call them up or stop in and inquire about cost and whatnot.
Eventually I wanna get myself a nice laser printer, but it's just not in the budget right now.

I lower my bid if a box is included, but raise it if there is no box.
