I actually didn't know the dangers of soldering a battery; I'm glad you shared your story, and hope you're okay.

ya im ok got a few burns on my shoulder on on my nose and one a little to close for comfort under my eye.....i need to start wearing safty glass's when i try crazy shit like this that would have been REALLY bad had it ended up in my eye and what made it worse is the second i tried rinsing the contents of the battery off it did something to the contents it didnt start burning until AFTER i add'd water......

I don't think battery holders exist that would fit in the GB carts.

You guys ever see the home built spot welders? Basically, you use the giant capacitor from the flash on a camera to make a spot welder. You don't get the cleanest or most profession looking weld, but it is a weld nonetheless.

I've seen that page before. I take issue with the fact he's not spending a few bucks to buy a bit to open the carts properly and is scratching the game and screw up.

When I saw this I contemplated building one, but I wouldn't use it enough to justify it taking up space. I also don't have an old microwave lying around.

It also seems widely dangerous. I mean, you're jumping a spark across two wires that's melting metals. Can't be the safest thing to do. Still, looks like a really simple build.

I've seen that hack a day page before, looks a little more complicated of a build though.

back when i used to work photo at rite aid i cant count how many times those stupid capacitors shocked the hell out of me unexpectedly just because a little bit of my skin was touching the metal tool used to take them apart :/
