Firefox Keeps Messing Up, Can Anyone Help?

Post by BurningDoom »

This problem is more annoying than anything. For the last week or so while I've been online websites won't load for a minute and I get the following message:
The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
But after about 30 seconds everything is fine again. This keeps happening.

I've done all the normal stuff like restarting the computer, resetting my internet options to default, and clearing my history and cookies and stuff.

Anyone have any ideas to fix this?

Only on Firefox? You don't get this problem on any other browser? And which version of Firefox? That used to happen to me all the time when I had AT&T. Since regetting cable internet, I haven't noticed it at all.

The latter, in a few weeks. But I've always used IE. I like it better than Firefox.

By any chance do you have bittorrent running? I was downloading that Metroid music thing and my FF was doing something similar. Pages were crapping out after 5 seconds or images weren't loading. I rebooted and left BT off and it was fine. Ended up just leaving BT on overnight to finish and be available to seed and FF has been fine otherwise.

No bittorrents running. I quit that and Shareaza a little less than a year ago after reading about multiple cases of non-server, not selling pirated things, individual users being sued for huge amounts of money. I got scared and deleted everything related on my computer and haven't done it since.

I think the problem may be my ISP. I do use AT&T. But it hasn't really been happening lately. Maybe it was just a bad week for AT&T around here, lol.

have you tried uninstall and reinstall maybe even to earlier version that is more stable? That fixed my firefox issue.
