edit: So, by the way, who was the one person that voted NO!

edit: I asked the guy from GRDC, I think he might have some extra cases I can buy off of him. So chances are good that any cart I donate to the auction will have a case with matching cover art!

Would people be more interested in vertical oriented cases (like Genesis boxes) or horizontal (like a SNES box)? I would think vertical, as this seems to be the more popular choice from what I've seen. But I'd figured I'd ask to see what you guys think.

Yeah, I think they only work vertically. Even though SNES boxes are horizontal, it'd be like making a DVD case horizontal just because of the way the game cases open.

Looks like I'll be able to get some game cases. I'll wait until I have them before I make the artwork, so I can get exact measurements. But the artwork is easy to visualize. It'll match the label, whatever changes the label has will be the same on the cover artwork.

Oh and by the way, the label posted above, I made the logos and whatnot white for now. I want to make it silver or white gold, but I'll have to play with it so it looks right. Silver really needs a glossy sheen to look right, otherwise it's just whites and greys.

But aside from colors, I'm happy with the over all design.

Hey Ziggy, if it comes down to it, I've got some spare UGCs on hand.

If things don't work out with the game reproductions guy, send me a pm. I'll be happy to shoot a couple of cases your way.

I apologize that I didn't think of it sooner. It literally just occurred to me a moment ago.

Made a silver version:

I wanted to keep everything flat, but it really is impossible to have proper silver, or even gold, and keep it completely flat. I think I did a good job of pulling off a decent sliver effect while still keeping it looking flat for the most part.

The silver is kinda boring. I mean, I think it looks kinda cool, but it almost gives the label a black and white feel being that we pulled all the colors (mostly red) out from the logos. I could try and make the silver have more shine, but then it wont be as flat.

I think I'm gonna do another gold version and try and make it flat like this silver version, see how that looks. My last gold version was embossed all around. I'll try the more simple approach.

I'd like to see the black background keep the RB tiled look.

Looking good Zig! I'd drop the silver or gold idea though unless we can get proper metallic ink going, you did about as well as can be done with it but it still looks just..."off".
