Nope. But getting hot hot hot!

One final clue.

The games came with cards that could be swiped through a slot on the add-on.

Nope. Aladdin Deck Enhancer was closer. It shares similarities with that.

Dragon Ball Gekitō Tenkaichi Budokai
for the Famicom Detach Joint ROM System

I KNEW it was Dragonball related based on the cart:

The game was unique in that it came with a special card reader attachment
I searched for Dragonball games and looked at all the related systems. Then with the barcode reader hint, that gave it away.

I thought the cart looked Dragon Ball-ish too, but I don't know enough about DBZ.
