A few years ago another guy and I were working out of town for the week. He was having problems with his new cell phone, and his network had a store in the strip mall near our hotel. While this douchebag was giving some poor guy in a blue shirt a hard time, I checked out the Gamestop next door, and perusing the GBA carts, saw what I mistook for a game in a series I had always wanted to play, Fire Emblem.
For only $6 I thought "why not?" and bought it, only to later realize that in my haste of not scrutinizing the cart more closely I had been mistaken, and actually picked out Breath of Fire II. And thanks to that mix-up now have a boring, pointless story.
Has this ever happened to you?

Found a boxed copy of Super Metroid once. Opened it to find that all that was inside was a copy of Spider-Man/Venom Maximum Carnage.

Epic thread.
One time I nabbed a boxed ram pak for 64. Got it home only to realize it was the normal jumper pak. Hahahahahaha. Never got around to return it.

Re: Has this ever happened to you?
I missed the N64 when it was first released and bought a used one years later. I saw the jumper pak in the front and thought that was the expansion pak. Imagine my confusion when Majora's Mask didn't work, I figured my expansion pak was busted so I ordered a new one off Amazon. When it arrived I realized my mistake.vlame wrote:Epic thread.

You know I've never understood why people try to sell N64 Jumper Paks. They come with every n64 default, and if you don't have one its because you have a superior expansion pck.
Who on earth would buy a jumper pak willingly?

Re: Has this ever happened to you?
People on eBay have been selling N64's without jumper paks is the reason I guess, why someone would willingly buy a N64 that didn't come with one is what is beyond me, I've saw a guy sell one of those stripped down N64's with no power supply or anything for more than a N64 with everything and a expansion pak.AppleQueso wrote:You know I've never understood why people try to sell N64 Jumper Paks. Re: Has this ever happened to you?
I got one that happened just recently. I was doing my normal rounds at a goodwill and I see a guy take a peek into a gamestop branded console bag, I couldnt see what it was but he walks off with it. I was dying to know what he had found since the bag looks like it was heavy. I go into ninja mode and keep a safe distance and watch him , to my surprise he puts the bag into another aisle and stuffs it kinda out of sight. At this point I realize he works there and is stocking the shelves, but I thought maybe he was stashing it for later or something, but i HAD to see what was in the bag!
I wait till he is out of sight and walk up to the bag, my mind is racing with what find I might get. I feel like Link when he is opening a large chest, the music building...I grab the bag, it has considerable heft to it, I unzip quickly to reveal its contents...
It was full of rubber self inking stamps, like ones with dates, or that said Paid and stuff like that, must have been 50 of them in there. I then realized he put it in the aisle with other office stuff. I zip it back up and put it back on the shelf. I didnt get any finds that day...

Re: Has this ever happened to you?
This looks like the official "I thought I had found Stadium Events" thread =p
Anyways, been there, suffered it. My personal curse is SMT III, I always find a game called DNA whatever and confuse it.
