Any way to fix rotation on a WEGA 24FS120? The rotation correction option isn't enough.

Perhaps I'm being too picky, but I've got everything set up all nice through the service menu but the last noticeable distortion is the tilting image. It's not real noticeable, but if there's a straight line near the top or bottom of the screen it's definitely noticeable.

There is the hidden Factory Service Menu for fine tuning all the variables. You press some buttons on the Remote while powering on. I avoid it due to a slight risk of bricking the TV if done wrong. Check out the AVS Forum Link in the OP.

Good that you got thru the Factory Service Menu okay. If you ever go in there again, can you post a screen shot? The other thing to try is the rings behind the tube. A much bigger risk of really throwing off the pic though and a HIGH VOLTAGE hazard.

If you want my settings, I can write them down for you, every TV is different so they may not be great for you.

The pic is from the OP, where I soldered in the new chips. High voltage is in there and a very slight bump of the individual rings can really throw the pic off. I would never do it, leave that for a technician with the right test equipment.

I can't really see how anybody could brick it provided they know what the settings do. Either way, I know that my picture is now 10x better than it was before.

Thanks! You can go with a paused DVD black screen for an easier read while you are tweaking the settings. In my case I just leave the Cable Box off which emits a solid black screen. Maybe one day I might tweak mine, happy with the pic for now.

Oh of course. However, I found that the Saturn's memory manager works really well for tweaking the picture, as it has straight horizontal and vertical lines. Makes it real easy to see the changes.

Oops, I guess a black screen doesn't help in seeing changes. So is it on the fly, changes happen as you change the numbers on the screen? That is a great idea using the console screen! Never thought of the scan lines of the Retro Console.

Hi, random question. Could you recommend some good WEGA 36" crt hd t.v. models for me to look for locally.

Someone has this model for $95 locally Model KV-36HS420

KV-36HS510 = $40
KV-36FS100 = $80
KV-36fv15 = $80

Primarily using a nes, snes, genesis and n64 - may use a dreamcast. Thanks!

WEGAs are great TVs. If you need to use a Retro Lightgun get the FS series. However its better to get a HD CRT to gain the benefits of the higher resolution for watching a movie or running a newer console. Any of the CRTs including HD CRTs work great with older consoles. I would go for the forty dollar unit, a very good price for a HD CRT.

Strongly advise any WEGA owner to pick up a pair of the MCZ3001DB chips while they are plentiful and inexpensive. Just in case of an uncommon breakdown years from now, the replacement spare chips are a good investment to have on hand.
