Port 2 doesn't seem to recognize the Y button. It acts like I'm pressing B when I hit it. This behavior occurs on all 3 controllers I own. All 3 controllers work fine in Port 1.
Don't know how long it might've had this issue, since I haven't really played many games multiplayer on it until recently. Any suggestions or tips?
SNES controller port issue
Re: SNES controller port issue
Might be a broken input on the second controller port, but it's hard to say. Could be either the port or the little cable attached to it.
Current systems: Atari 2600[x2], NES(top loader), SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation, PS2, PS2 slim, xbox, xbox 360, Turbografx-16, Game Boy Pocket, Game boy SP[x2], Nintendo DS[x2], Nintendo DSi, Nintendo 3DS, Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Wonderswan Color, Neo Geo MVS.

The pins on the controller port could have oxidized or otherwise became dirty some how. You could try cleaning them, but it wont be too easy. I'm not sure how much you can take them apart if you're able to disassemble the console. A Q-Tip (cotton swab) wont fit in there. A tooth pick would, but there's not much you can do with that.
Or maybe some one was rough with unplugging the controller from port 2 too many times, and stressed one or more of the pins in the socket, possibly messing up a solder joint.
