This. Not buying games because you don't like how the company handles DRM and whatnot is like not seeing a trashy movie because you want Hollywood to make better stuff: it makes absolutely no difference. The video game market is too huge. Might as well just give in and accept that things will be the way they'll be. Either that, or actually try to mobilize a bunch of people into complaining to the company. But just whining on a forum and not buying your 1 copy isn't going to do anything.brunoafh wrote:Because the industry is already too far gone and I don't give a shit anymore. I lol'd. Yep, guess we're all taking it up the ass.dsheinem wrote:Believe it or not, most of us don't see a company trying to make a few extra bucks off of us as "fucking us in the ass." It is just video games, and I find the over the top rhetoric about DLC and preorder codes to be not just silly, but exactly the kind of bullshit that gives gamers a bad name. I am sick of an entire generation that feels entitled to everything for little or no money or effort.Niode wrote:
Yet again, this forum disappoints me, why you don't give a shit about these companies walking all over us is beyond me. I don't think this is a big deal at all like Gamerforlife is saying, and I also agree with BoringSupreez and brunoafh above. I'll bitch about some specific things myself (Capcom and Square Enix lol), but ... well, in the end you gotta deal with it. This entire generation has been nothing but crappy trends and personally I'm just kind of realistic and pessimistic about it myself. Am -I- going to change anything? No. So, the end. I'll carry on and stick to retro games, and just buy the random few games that come out thesedays that actually look good. I can't change an industry. Sorry if that's "getting fucked in the ass" mentality, but oh well.

I'm sure the Catwoman stuff will be on the Game of the Year edition also. I'll be waiting it out for that one (after foolishly mis-timing my buy on the first game).

Occupy Gamestop - you can do this!Niode wrote:Doesn't work like that. Try and enter those codes while offline, it won't work.Gamerforlife wrote:Isn't the content on the disc? So you enter the code and it unlocks. You don't even have to bring their servers into the equationvlame wrote:even if i buy the game new in 10 years or later, you really think EA will still care about this old ass code still being useful?
It's like using a cheat code to unlock features in game
