I've seen every single Friends episode more than 3 times, it can't be that hard.J T wrote:I have Friends: The One With All The Trivia. Well, techinically it's my wife's. If I have 0% interest in a game, I won't even buy it for $1.
But as long as I have some interest in it, for whatever reason that may be, I would consider buying it if it was cheap enough.
Sometimes I see a game that interests me slightly on Ebay with a starting bid of 1 cent, and I will place a $1 bid or something on it, and sometimes end up winning it.

Can I bother you for a sample question or two?J T wrote:I have Friends: The One With All The Trivia. Well, techinically it's my wife's. I'm curious, and I know the show fairly well.

What's an example of some of the ones you have 0% interest in?

I feel the same. And games like that for me include most sports games that don't involve a car, fighting, or wrestling; as well as most strategy games and most turn-based RPGs. I'm just not into those genres, except for rare instances where the game gives you something no other games in that genre does, like Legend of Legaia with it's unique battle-system.Anayo wrote:Inazuma wrote:If I have 0% interest in a game, I won't even buy it for $1.

- Games for systems I never want to own, such as Atari systems, Xbox 360
- Games that I would never want to play, ever. Most American made FPS games on the Japanese PS2, for example. I don't care if Medal of Honor or whatever is $1. It's complete useless trash to me.
- Games with a lot of important DLC, or with really bad DRM
- Games that are "pay to win"
- And lastly, games that are illegal to own

Any game with an online pass system or required internet connection DRM. This is the reason I'm not buying anymore Sony games, EA games, Ubisoft games, THQ games, Warner Bros games. They could be 5 dollars and I wouldn't bite.

Re: Games you refuse to buy no matter how cheap
Well, now that we're listing genres we don't like allow me to expand upon my original post...
I won't play any game that glorifies militarism. This includes all modern army man games (CoD, Medal of Honor, etc). I can't stand space marine crap either, so no Halo or Gears of War. I don't have anything against the FPS genre in general. I dig Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Doom, Wolfenstein. But every modern day grey/brown fratboy shit makes me wanna hurl.
Western Hollywood-inspired games (think Rockstar stuff like GTA and Red Dead Redemption) are pretty weak too. The writing is generally abyssal, cut scenes are far too numerous, there's way too many ham-fisted attempts to "push the envelope" shoved into every game, and the gameplay mechanics are weak.
Shovelware is obviously a big turn-off. No Ninjabread Man, please.
MMORPGs bore me to tears and require too much of a commitment.
But unlike many folks here, I do dig a lot of sports games. But they gotta be the classics: Tecmo Bowl, Bases Loaded, Baseball Stars, Double Dribble, Golf. No EA or 2K shit.
And I still hate Kingdom Hearts.
