I seem to remember that fighting and platformer were rather undecided before. Far more so than Party, where it seems fairly clear bomberman was ahead to me at least :S
But Im assuming other factors played into the decision too. Like 3D fighters seeming more popular as an option, or the possibility of an interview for a game on the podcast.
