Yeah, it's strange. I hate their burgers, but a McMuffin or breakfast burrito always sounds good. As far as gluten free goes, my dad's GF is gluten intolerant (not celiac) so I've been pretty gluten free for the last 4 years. It's not as hard as it seems provided you make your own food and don't eat out. We eat a lot of rice instead of traditional noodles and bread.noiseredux wrote:dammit I love McDonald's breakfast foods. I wish they'd serve it all day long.
So.
Frown: I caught a cold, and don't feel like doing anything. I hate having body aches.
Smile: Picking up a nice CRT TV later today.

Yup, goo thing my old roommate liked Asian food.RyaNtheSlayA wrote: As far as gluten free goes, my dad's GF is gluten intolerant (not celiac) so I've been pretty gluten free for the last 4 years. With our group of friends we were the worst bunch to try and eat out together. Roommate couldn't eat gluten, I don't like real Italian (too fresh tomatoes and excessive olive oil), the Hispanic friend didn't like Mexican food, and another didn't like seafood. Thankfully we all liked Oriental and Asian food, which meant we ended up with that most of the time. Of course we'd waste time trying to come up with other things all the time, then default anyway.

Good on you man.Luke wrote:I'm not. I agree. It's as simple as peeling and crushing tomatoes, and adding them to a mirepoix, then simmer. Much, much better when homemade. The ingredients are simply tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, carrot, onion, celery, and herbs (usually just fresh sweet basil for me).CFFJR wrote:Fuckin' sauce in a jar.

Never mind me, I'm just kidding.
There's nothing like homemade.

Well, in elmagicochrisg's case, making the exact recipe is unfeasible, so you might as well try to get as close as possible via other means. But, I definitely get what you're saying. Regardless, the end result is mind-blowing; whenever I make it, it's all I eat (except breakfast) for a week.gtmtnbiker wrote:It's probably a good idea to make the recipe as the creator has intended for the first time. Then you can always modify to more your taste if you like the next time.lisalover1 wrote: I actually recommend a sweet sauce for this recipe, because that is the emphasis of taste in the recipe. Perhaps taste the sauce beforehand, and sweeten it up if necessary.

I just looked at the recipe, and it looks like I have to put the sauce in the meatballs.
Erm, am I reading this wrong?...

Yeah, it sounds weird, but you do add sauce to the meatball mixture. I'll have to double-check those proportions, though; a whole jar sounds a bit off. :Selmagicochrisg wrote:I just looked at the recipe, and it looks like I have to put the sauce in the meatballs.

EDIT: I just double-checked with my original notes, and you are indeed supposed to add a small jar of sauce to the meatball mixture.

It would make for some pretty special meatballs though. Maybe I should try it...lisalover1 wrote:Maybe I wrote that part wrong. I'm pretty sure the sauce is separate.elmagicochrisg wrote:I just looked at the recipe, and it looks like I have to put the sauce in the meatballs.
Erm, am I reading this wrong?...I'll have to double-check the original recipe notecard; give me a minute.
EDIT Oh my, I really have to add the sauce to the meatballs !!!

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Since you guys are talking about gluten, my mom and I are thinking there might be kind of some intolerance going on within the family over it. Who knows, but is there like any mildy easy way to see how it effects me or something? Been having weird symptoms over the last two years or so, thinking that could potentially be an issue or maybe I have something like a candidiasis infection (my mom apparently had similar issues that I'm having when she was my age and that was one infection she had. I was on a good bit of anti-biotics growing up, and junk food seems to cause it as well). Maybe I can get some ideas here or something.
Candidiasis sounds like a pain but something you can naturally rid of within a month or so, being gluten free though ... that sounds insane to me.

There is a test to know if you are gluten intolerant or not. Ask your doctor...Xeogred wrote:Since you guys are talking about gluten, my mom and I are thinking there might be kind of some intolerance going on within the family over it. By the way, eating a gluten free diet is easier than you think.
It takes some time to adapt, but then it's really easy...
