I fully expect there to be spin-offs of said Call of Duty games. Call of Duty Zombies will become its own series. Call of Duty Puzzle Attack will follow.
No no no. The FPS market will be over-saturated before 5 to 10 years, just like what happened to Tony Hawk games and music games,
Except it got oversaturated like 2-3 years ago and the public is still eating it up. It's like Hair Metal in the 80s, it just got so overbloated and over-the-top we all thought it would never end.

When will the Nirvana of gaming show up and save us all?

Someday I really do want to write a novella called Console about a gaming industry war taking place in the near-future of 15-20 years from now in which the last true console goes up against a more immersive, Matrix-like (though not invasive) technology. Virtual reality, here we come.

I don't think the music games market was the best example. Activision promoetd Guitar Hero as a fad ,not as a stable franchise and the quality of the games was very, very low, they would have crashed even if they didn't release 4 GH games in a year.

Similarly, I think that FPS will drop mainly because CoD and Halo are bad games not because there are too many of them. It will be a factor too, for sure, but I think quality is another big factor here.

I don't think the COD or Halo series are low quality at all. There are too many of them, but they are well designed with high production quality.

4v4 Double battle, only legendaries banned. Great, thanks Nintendo. Because Entei is overpowered but Garchomp isn't. :|

Until Nintendo gets its head out of its butt or the fansites such as Smogon, Pokémon Online (though they might not be on the rise for too much longer), and my own site, the Pokémon competitive battling community will continue to be ignored.

Ninty's starting an online tournament with signups starting tomorrow, but they're keeping the same stupid-ass double battle format, AND limiting it to 5th Gen Pokémon only. I can't wait until I'm able to do something about this disgrace.

Actually you are right, bad sounds too harh. I would say mediocre, not bad. And yes, they have good production values, that's undeniable.

@Yoshiegg

Well, at least we won't have that fun metamage of Rain/Anti-Rain/Mewtwo and his overpowered friends.

Pokemon Online will crash, they lack the competitive skills to run the game well. I mean, they want to ban Lampent. Yes, Lampent. And they don't find Swift Swim+Rain overpowered. Nah, I don't think they do it well.

Now that we are dipping toes into the newest of the next gen stuff.

Have any of these past threads/comments come true?

Should we expect more of the same or are we truly in for a surprise?
