The Supaboy won't have that problem since it plays SFC games right out of the box, and it has a cartridge locking feature.
I'm so sold on this thing.

try a game store, (NOT GameStop) they can order it for you directly from hyperkin if they have a merchant account with HyperKin which most game stores will.

Cool - I went with amazon, they've worked well in the past when something had to be ordered through a vendor.

You can't order it right now - the Supaboy hasn't been released yet. Hyperkin sent out a numbered set of 100 test units across the country to gain feedback from sellers on what they thought works well and what needs improvement. The numbered test units are only for the purposes of the questionnaire - once filled out, Hyperkin is allowing the person who they sent the test unit to keep it and do whatever they wish. Some have opted to try and sell their test units in their stores, hence the confusion about the system being launched.

From what I've been told, all the test units have slight audio problems - the first batch had very low maximum volume levels, and the newer ones that don't have a faintly annoying high pitched whine.

For these reasons amongst others, even if you come across a numbered test unit it's in your best interest to wait until the system is out of the prototyping phase.

Given how mediocre the Retrogen/Gen Mobile is I'm cautiously optimistic.

I like clones but I've also been disappointed by them quite a bit in the past and this thing's also pretty pricy. I'm not getting my hopes up until I see some real feedback beyond marketing hype.

Thanks - I cancelled my order. I'll keep an eye out.

Heard from a local classic game dealer that these are coming out next week. They had a prototype for sale and he said he had just ordered the real ones. Only 500 produced. Screen is HUGE. Will sit very big in your hands (like a lynx almost) but looks awesome.
