You know if it easily supports widescreen? I definitely might consider playing it that way.
It looks like it but I can't test it as I've got the cd version and the DRM for it is 16 bit so it won't install on my new computer. The GOG version won't have that problem obviously.

As for me I bought the n64 version, dumped the rom with a GS pro, and play rayman 2 on an emu in HD with numerous texture filtering options. For a controller I use an oxbox controller I modified.

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.

Awesome. Even though I have a Dreamcast, I don't have anything beyond AV cables for it right now so it'd probably look ugly on my HDTV... might just go with the PC version for now. 8)

I wonder how Rayman 2 PC measures up to the Dreamcast version though? I'd imagine they might be neck and neck, best resolutions on both and all (and hopefully you can play 2 on the PC with a controller?), it's kind of tempting...
The PC version is the same as the N64 version, but with high resolutions.
I rate the PC version as inferior to the DC and N64 versions because you have to have a PC gamepad to really have any fun with it, and you have to go through the bother of setting it up. On the consoles, you just stick the game in and it works.

you say "Fixed some stuff, added some new versions in. I HATE Rayman 2 on PS2. They changed a bunch of stuff, all for the worse"..

can you please elaborate on that? right now the PS2 sounds like the best version to me.
Poopy frame rate on the PS2 version, which is sort of puzzling, they jacked up the music if I remember correctly. They also enhanced some of the scenery, imo for the worse. The DC version is far superior.
Yes, these are the reasons I don't like it on PS2. Much worse framerate, despite the fact that the PS2 is more powerful than an N64 or DC, the scenery and textures are frequently changed for no apparent reason (to the point that some parts of levels that used to be outdoors are now indoors), the game prompts the player to save way too often, saving and loading seems to take more time than before, and they added voices in. That wouldn't be a problem except that one has to turn them off in the options menu every time he plays; it defaults back to voices on every time the game is started.

Rayman aside, I don't see how this is that big of a deal in this day and age with USB. Years ago I would agree with you about this annoyance, but not anymore. You can plug in 360 wired controllers, PS3, and get $5-10 adapters for stuff like two PS2 controller slots (which I have), so yeah. Unless it's pain to setup in the game or something for some reason, I don't see how this is a deal breaker.
