Need Help With Alternative Solder Points

hey guys ive just dug my dreamcast out to make or buy an sd card adapter for it and to play some of the classics but discovered it needed some work ive replaced the battery but the fan connection has come off and it looks like the 3 holes are a bit damaged so what i need is to know were the fan solder points lead to so i can solder the fan wires on them instead:

Follow the traces on the board and solder to a point that is still on the same side of any other components as the original points were.

the connections have glue on off were i tryed to stick it on i cant quite make them out is this right please be sure:

The only one that looks like a sure thing is the top connection. But seriously, if this is your board why not solder to the original points instead of tracing them?... I cannot imagine you fucked up the original points that much that you can't solder on them anymore...

You can also use a multimeter to see where there is no resistance between 2 points. Once you find 2 points with no resistance you know they are connected...

If I make mistakes, please someone correct me. The stuff I know I tought myself, so I don't want to give the guy wrong information...

i have a multimeter but there is no solder on the 3 holes were the connector was do you know the voltage of the fans 3 wires mabe then i can check with the alternative points, and i need to solder to the alternative points because the holes are to hard to sort out because i tryed glueing the connection on when i soldered it on in the first place and the glue i used is really tough to get off and clean the holes up so if you can help me fix my dreamcast id be grateful im going to buy a damaged dreamcast when i can for cheap anyway so i can use the controller board out of that but i would really like to fix this for now.

Nothing to do with the voltage of the fan. If you can't use the original points on the controller board to check resistance then a multimeter will do you no good. It would be quite easy to use another 3.3V and ground to get the fan up and running, but I think this is of no use. The Dreamcast checks if the fan is connected and shuts down if it isn't. So when you use different points (in a different trace) the Dreamcast will not recognize the fan...

Best case scenario - but I could be mistaken- the white wire regulates the fan's speed and is connected to the motherboard. So that might be the one checking if the fan is connected. If that is the case you could still try to find a 3.3V and ground point elsewhere on the board for the other 2 wires, as long as you are able to connect the white wire to its original trace...

Again, if I make a mistake, please someone take the time to correct me...

i have been able to get the dreamcast working by soldering the connections to the solder points now the dreamcast stays on but the fan still wont come on im beginning to think its the fan itself thats not working anyway least it stays on now i will find a small fan and hook that up to the power for now untill i get a replacement controller board and fan im just glad its on for now thanks for all the help at the moment only 2 of the fan wires are soldered on its pointless soldering the third wire (red) on ive tested it on a few points had the right power but the fan doesnt spin so like i said i will just attach a small pc fan if i can find on i should have one somewere i will let you know how it goes

Been a while since I was in my DC, but if there are 3 wires then red and black are power and the third will likely be a sensor wire to the system knows if it isn't spinning.

yeah i did stick it on a bit but the fan still didnt sping i think when the connection was loose it must of shorted its working without the fan so atleast i can go through my memory cards and stuff untill i stick a fan in

im gonna get another working dreamcast soon and buy a breadboard and build some boards to mod this one ive got and just mod it with every mod i can find
